Satisfactory
Progress: Honors Program students must successfully
complete a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.
Freshman
Seminar: During the freshman fall semester,
Honors Program students must successfully complete
the Honors Seminar (GNED 102-50).
Honors
Core Courses: During the freshman year,
Honors Program students must successfully complete
two of the core courses that have designated Honors
sections. Typical offerings include Public Speaking
(COMM 110), World Civilization (HIST 103), Macroeconomics
(ECON 212), and Survey of English Literature (ENGL
201).
Ethics
and Leadership Seminar: During the sophomore
year, Honors Program students must successfully complete
the Honors Ethics and Leadership seminar (GNED 202-50).
Honors
Credit: During the sophomore, junior and
senior years, Honors Program students must earn Honors
Credit in a minimum of 18 semester hours (usually
5 or 6 courses), at least 12 of which must be in
the designated field of study. Guidelines for Honors
Credit can be found in Section V, and Honors Credit
Request Forms can be found in Section VIII. Students
are expected to pursue Honors Credit in at least
two courses per year after their freshman year until
they have earned at least 18 semester hours of Honors
Credit.
Senior
Project: During the senior year, students
in the Honors Program are expected to complete a
senior project. The nature and scope of the project
will be determined by the student and the project
director (usually an instructor in the major field
of study). It may take the form of an internship,
thesis, or other major project. Project guidelines
can be found in Section VI, and the Senior Project
Application can be found in the Section VIII.

GPA: Throughout their CSU careers, students
in the Honors Program are expected to meet the following
