With students in mind Charleston Southern University’s Student Government Association has been around since the inception of Baptist College in 1964. The Student Government or SGA has acted as the student voice in all school administration matters concerning the university. Our goal is to better serve the student population at large.
We encourage you to attend our meetings every Monday at 4 p.m. in the Charleston Room.

The Student Government has helped make several changes on campus. In the past SGA has helped bring about Lounge renovations, Edwards Express, and Open House on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays. A new service that we brought on campus in cooperation with the library is the movie rental program. Which allows students to rent movies for their entertainment. We are currently working to:
- improve the quality of food & service by working with the Director of the Caf.
- increase the hours of computer labs on campus.
- improve the quality and speed of the internet.
- create a comprehensive recycling program on campus.
