The Horton School of Music is accredited by the National
Association of Schools of Music. The Music Therapy program
is accredited by the American Music Therapy Association.
All students seeking to major in any music degree program
must give a satisfactory performance audition (including
sight-reading) on their major performance instrument for
a faculty jury by the end of the first major semester of
enrollment. (This can be completed within a year prior to
enrollment).
Applications, appointments for auditions, and a list of
appropriate audition repertoire for each instrument may be
obtained by contacting the Horton School of Music. Should
a student desire to change to another major performance instrument,
that student must reaudition on the new instrument.

- Music Major with an Emphasis in Performance (Instrumental)

Notes
All students seeking a music major or minor who do not score
sufficiently high on the entrance examination of music theory
should study the fundamentals before enrolling in Music Theory
I.
