Description: Charleston Southern University invites
applications for an Assistant Professor of Religion/Youth
Ministry
Qualifications: Applicants should have a terminal degree
in Christian Education or similar field with experience
in Youth Education/Ministry, publications in scholarly
journals, experience in a local church, ordination as
a minister in a Southern Baptist Church and active member
in a Southern Baptist Church. Teaching experience in
a Department of Religion at the college or seminary level

Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in Spanish, Peninsular
or Latin American literature, or related field; evidence

CRIMINAL JUSTICE FACULTY POSITION
Description: Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice-Director of the Grand Strand Criminal Justice Program
Qualifications: Masters Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, or other closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. The strongest candidates will demonstrate a sound background in criminal justice and possess the ability to teach a variety of courses. Experience in college teaching is required and experience as a practitioner in the field of Criminal Justice enhances the candidate’s credentials in the selection process. Online courses are being utilized to enhance the Criminal Justice program and will also be integrated into the teaching load. Applicants with a J.D. degree will not be considered for this position.
This position is based in Myrtle Beach, SC and will also assume the responsibilities as Director of the CSU Grand Strand program under the direction of the Chair of Criminal Justice at the Charleston campus. Recruiting and advising students as well as administrative oversight are essential responsibilities of this position. The successful applicant will be expected to actively participate in curriculum revision, student advising, program development, campus activities, and community/church service. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to the success of this program; enthusiasm and a genuine desire for students to complete the program are also important skills for the Director of the Grand Strand program.
Responsibilities: Teaching load of three courses per semester; recruiting new students; student advising; supervision of Criminal Justice internships; participation on the Criminal Justice Advisory Board; community and university service. The Director of the Grand Strand program will also travel to the Charleston campus on a monthly basis to attend faculty meetings and stay actively involved with the undergraduate and graduate programs.
