Mission
The Department of Criminal Justice reinforces the University mission
of “Promoting Academic Excellence in a Christian Environment” through
the Department’s mission, which is “Educating students
to meet the challenges of an ever-changing, complex society and valuing
the strengths of the past as well as the opportunities of the future.”
Goals
To achieve our mission the Department is dedicated to the following
goals:
Providing a quality education through a comprehensive curriculum
in all degree programs. Included in the curriculum is a liberal arts
core and criminal justice major requirements that enhance development
of oral, written, creative and critical thinking skills and ethical
awareness.
Promoting cultural diversity through curriculum that reflects global
and cultural awareness and an appreciation for human diversity.
Encouragement of student participation in local, state, national
and international meetings, as well as offering opportunities for
field experiences in local and state internships and national and
international study courses.
Supporting research, scholarship, service, and creative work that
meets society’s needs, supports academic excellence, develops
knowledge, and enhances professional and Christian development.
