College
of Science and Mathematics
Computer and Information Sciences
COINS has a dedicated faculty who share the philosophy that involved students
learn best. Consequently most computer courses are taught in a laboratory setting
where each student is engaged interactively with the computer.
Kinesiology
The Department of Kinesiology's primary goal is to prepare future physical
education teachers and athletic trainers. Our curriculum is designed to develop
students' cognitive competencies while exposing the student to a wide range
of skill areas.
Biology
The Department of Biology at CSU offers an undergraduate major and minor in
biology. Individuals wishing to teach biology on the secondary level must
complete a broad field program in science education and a minor in secondary
eduication.
Mathematics
At CSU, the emphasis in mathematics is on actively doing mathematics rather
than passively watching it being done. Classes for mathematics majors are
typically small, and the courses focus on developing conceptualization and
analytical thought processes.
Physical
Sciences
The Physical Science Department is committed to providing majors and minors
with experiences that will prepare them to be successful in professional schools,
graduate schools, or industry.
