BIOCHEMISTRY MAJOR
A major in Biochemistry consists of 68 semester hours in Biology,
Chemistry,
and Physics with no minor required.
Required courses:
Biology: 141, 142, 220, 323, 380, 423, and one approved Biology elective.
Chemistry: 121, 122, 123, 124, 210, 301, 302, 311, 312, and 421 or
an approved
Chemistry elective.
Physics: 201and 202 or 203 and 204
Liberal Arts Core note: Mathematics 111 satisfies the Liberal Arts
Core minimum requirement in Mathematics for this major. Higher mathematics
courses may be required as prerequisites for certain courses. Check
course descriptions for specific requirements.
Students must also meet the Residency Requirements described in
the CSU catalog.

CHEMISTRY MAJOR
A major in Chemistry consists of 38 to 39 semester hours in Chemistry
(10 courses)
Required Courses:
Chemistry: 121 with 123 lab, 122 with 124 lab,
210, 301, 302, 320, 421 and 422
Physics: 201 and 202 (prerequisites for Chem 421/422)
Elective Courses: Chemistry 311, 410, 430, 440 (any two)
Recommended: Computer Science 217 or higher
Liberal Arts Core note: Mathematics 130, 221,and
222 are required prerequisites for certain courses in this major.
Depending on where
a student is placed in mathematics, additional courses may be required,
including Mathematics 099 and Mathematics 111.
Students must also
meet the Residency Requirements described in this catalog.

CHEMISTRY MINOR
A minor in Chemistry consists of 22-24 semester hours.
Required Courses: Chemistry 121 with 123 lab, 122 with 124 lab,
and 210
Elective Courses: Any three Chemistry courses with two on the 300-400
level, and both Chemistry 117 and 301 may not be used.
Liberal Arts Core note: Mathematics 130 will satisfy the minimum
level of mathematics required to earn this minor. Higher mathematics
courses are required prerequisites to certain upper level chemistry
courses. See course descriptions in this catalog.
Students must also meet the Residency Requirements described in
