Dr. John B. Duncan

Dr. Duncan has been named to the Board of Directors for the International Assembly of Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), the business accrediting group through which CSU’s business programs are accredited.

Dr. Arnold Hite

May 2010, Dr. Arnold Hite was awarded the Charleston Southern University, Excellence in Teaching Award.  Each year three candidates are nominated by faculty peers.  The final selection is made by the CSU Trustees and announced prior to spring graduation. 

Recent Scholarly Activities:

November 2010, Dr. Arnold Hite was an invited lecturer at The University of Applied Sciences, Wiener Neustadt, Austria.    Two lectures were given to faculty and students over three days.  Lectures topics were:

    1. Macroeconomic Policy in Conflict:  the U.S. Experience.
    2. Mechanics and Conceptual Problems of Measuring Inflation

October 2010, Dr. Arnold Hite attended the Market Economics Conference, sponsored by, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, Hillsdale College, and the Acton Institute in Dearborn MI.

April 2010, Dr. Arnold Hite was the Keynote Speaker at the Low Country Chapter of the South Carolina Association of Environmental Engineers.   Lecture topic:  The Economics of Going Green.

June 2010, Dr. Arnold Hite attended the Market Based Management University Summer Program sponsored by the Koch Foundation in Wichita, Kansas.

Louis C. Mancuso, Ghasem S. Alijani, Obyung Kwun, and Larry D. Smith, “Successful Outcomes of Teaching Minority Undergraduate Students Entrepreneurial Business Planning Concepts Using Andragogy and Service Learning.”  Presented at the annual meeting of the Allied Academies in New Orleans, April, 2009.  This paper won the Distinguished Research Award has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Entrepreneurship Education.

Larry Smith Served as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for McGraw-Hill Learning Solutions in summer of 2008.  The project was a custom-written on-line insurance course for Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY.  The course was designed to prepare students for licensure in the state of New York for certain life and health lines of insurance sales.  Smith authored the content of the subject material, verified its accuracy, and integrated into the material the principles of effective on-line pedagogy.
