Pell Grant
The Pell Grant is a federal grant based on financial need as determined by completing
the FAFSA. Eligible students may receive up to $5,350 for the year, depending
on need and hours enrolled each semester. A student’s eligibility for the
Pell Grant may change each year based on the Estimated Family Contribution as
listed on the FAFSA. If a student is selected for verification, this grant may
also change depending on the results of verification.
Federal
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
SEOG is a federal grant reserved for full-time students who receive the Pell
Grant. Students must complete the FAFSA to be considered. Award amounts up
to $1,000 a year. This fund is very limited so completing the FAFSA early is
encouraged. This grant is not guaranteed and is renewed each year based on
funding and student eligibility.
Federal
Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
The Academic Competiveness Grant is a federal grant given to freshmen and sophomore students who receive the Pell Grant and who have taken a “rigorous secondary school program” as designated by the US Department of Education. By law, students must indicate on their FAFSA that they completed a rigorous high school program in order to be considered. Full time (12 credit hours) and part time (6 to 11 credit hours) freshmen can receive $750 per year. Full time (12 credit hours) and part time (6 to 11 credit hours) sophomores can receive $1,300 per year, but they must have earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA and 24 hours during their freshmen year.

Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART)
Grant
: The SMART Grant is a federal grant given to full-time (12 credit hours) and part time (6 to 11 credit hours) junior and senior students who receive the Pell Grant and who are majoring in an approved math or science program as determined by the US Department of Education. The SMART Grant is awarded up to $4,000 per year. Students must have earned at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA and 24 hours the previous year and show progression towards successful completion of a degree in the declared major.

Federal
College Work-Study
Federal Work-Study is awarded to students who have completed the FAFSA and
have financial need. This fund is very limited so completing the FAFSA early
is encouraged. Federal Work-Study is not guaranteed and is renewed each year
based on the students eligibility.
Students
must apply their work-study checks to their account in
order for the aid to be applied to their tuition charges.
Students
who have been awarded Federal Work-Study on their financial
aid award letter will be notified during the summer of
the additional information required to secure a job on
campus. Work-Study is considered part-time student employment;
therefore, the wages earned are taxed. All work-study
