Academic excellence is more than just a catch-phrase, it’s part of our mission! CSU students are taught by highly-trained professors, with more than two-thirds holding doctoral degrees. And there are no teaching assistants here! All classes are taught by faculty who not only have the knowledge, but also the experience in their fields of study that make a difference in the classroom.

CSU was founded with the purpose of educating students in a Christian environment. And we work hard every day to do just that. We provide students with opportunities to nurture Christian growth because we know our students can change the world through their service and leadership. Whether it’s helping build a local house for Habitat for Humanity or spending the summer on mission in Ghana, our students learn how they can make a significant impact on society.

Our Buccaneers do more than just play NCAA Division I athletics – they win! Our athletes make up 17 different sports teams that include basketball, women’s soccer, softball, cross country, baseball, track and field, golf, tennis and volleyball, as well as an NCAA Division I-AA football team. The Bucs have clinched 21 conference championships and in the past 8 years, 10 teams have advanced to postseason play.

At CSU, we know that college is more than just learning inside the classroom. Through student organizations, missions, and campus ministries, our students have an ideal environment where they can practice real-world lessons in service and leadership. With more than 30 clubs and organizations on campus, you’re sure to find a group where you can find your niche.
CSU is more than just a campus, it’s a community. You might spend your time watching movies with friends in the student lounge, working out in our Wellness Center, playing basketball in University Park, or our newest favorite: just hanging out in our new Java City Coffeehouse. And what better place to call home than Charleston? With unique restaurants, historic plantations, and miles of beaches, you’re sure to feel right at home.
