Membership
and Benefits
Regular membership to the CSU Alumni Association (CSUAA) is open to those students
who received a diploma from either Baptist College or Charleston Southern University.
People who did not graduate are considered “friends” of the University
and are entitled to an honorary Association membership, but only after being
approved by the CSUAA Alumni Board.
CSUAA
Constitution and Bylaws
The Charleston Southern University Alumni Association was established in 1982,
is governed by two important documents – a Constitution and By-laws.
Any amendments to the Constitution must be voted on and approved by the alumni
membership at large, and then must be approved by CSU’s Senior Officers,
including the President of the University. Any changes to the By-laws, however,
must be approved by a majority vote of the 13-member CSUAA Alumni Board.
Transcripts
and Diplomas
The Registrars Office maintains all student academic records and can assist
you in getting an official CSU copy of your transcripts to complete a graduate
school application, to send to a potential employer, or for your personal records.
Nominations
and Awards
The CSUAA Alumni Board created six awards that recognize outstanding alumni
and their achievements. Nominations for these awards are accepted throughout
the year from several sources including; alumni, the CSU Board of Trustees,
administrators, faculty, staff, and friends of the university. Each year the
Nominations and Awards Committee handles the selection for the awards. Each
winner is notified by a member of the committee, and awards are presented at
either Homecoming Weekend or Alumni Weekend in the spring.
