Our goal is to find those students who would flourish within our mission of promoting academic excellence in a Christian environment, and we could use your help.
Charleston Southern University is a tuition-driven institution. 92% of our current operating budget is student generated so enrollment, and retention, of students is everything. How do we find those students who would flourish within our mission of promoting academic excellence in a Christian environment? Through an intensive search and relationship-building program based in our Enrollment Services office and it has room for your help.
Alumni volunteers in various cities across the country work as a part of the admissions team and are extensions of the Enrollment Services office in both formal and informal ways. The following is a short list of ways you could volunteer your time and help out:
· Represent CSU at a local high school college fair
· Consider hosting a casual reception at your home or church for prospective students and their parents
· Write letters or make phone calls to students in your hometown who are thinking about CSU
· Host “send off” parties for students and their parents who have been accepted as incoming freshmen
· Keep an eye out for talented students who would be good candidates for admission and alert the Enrollment Office so they could contact them
Training is necessary to become a volunteer and is conducted by an Enrollment staff member at various times throughout the calendar year. Working with admissions is not a large time commitment, but the work volume does increase in the spring and summer. Please contact the Alumni Office if you’re interested or have questions.
