Profile: Dr. John B. Duncan
Dr. John B. Duncan serves as a professor of accounting at Charleston Southern University. Dr. Duncan holds a bachelor of business administration in accounting and a master of business administration from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and a doctorate in accountancy from the University of Mississippi. He is a licensed certified public accountant in South Carolina and a Qualified Kingdom Advisor ™.
Before joining the Charleston Southern faculty in 2003, Dr. Duncan served as assistant professor of accounting at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, where he held the John Luffey Endowed Professorship in Accounting; dean of the School of Business and director of the Church Finance Institute at William Carey University and was an assistant professor and chair of the Department of Accounting at Mississippi College.
Dr. Duncan's research has been presented at numerous academic conferences and has been published in several leading accounting and business journals. He received the Outstanding Intellectual Contributions Award in 2003 for the College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
He serves on the board of directors of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education, and he is a member of several professional organizations including the South Carolina Association of CPAs, the Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Dr. Duncan is a founding board member of LifeWorks of Charleston, where he serves as treasurer, and he is a part of the God in the Workplace leadership team. He is also a member of Kingdom Advisors, the Fellowship of Companies for Christ International and the Christian Business Faculty Association.
