Profile: Larry D. Smith
Larry Smith is an assistant professor in the School of Business at Charleston Southern University. He received a bachelor of arts in religion from Harding University and a master of business administration from Southern Methodist University.
He has served as assistant professor at Brewton-Parker College and as director of academic computing at Georgia Southern University in the College of Business Administration. Smith served as CEO of Aftech Leasing, Inc., managing partner of Commodore Systems, Inc., owner of Walnut Properties, Inc., founder and CEO of Connectco, Inc., and area sales manager at Western Union.
Smith teaches entrepreneurship and computer-related courses in the graduate and undergraduate programs in the School of Business. One key course is offered to seniors in the computer science program and the MBA program in the School of Business: Systems Analysis and Software Design. His research interests are the methods small businesses employ in the use of computing. He has made presentations in Bordeaux, France, and Guadalajara, Mexico, for the World Association for Case Method Research and Application.
