Dr. Cynthia M. Putman worked in the public schools of South Carolina and Florida for thirty years. Beginning as a teacher's aide, she attended CSU to complete her undergraduate degree. Working next as a teacher, a principal and district office administrator, she completed three graduate degrees and came to CSU after retiring from public school. Dr. Putman is a children's book author and often speaks at conferences and to various school, church, and community groups. She is a member of the National Daughters of the American Revolution, Alpha Delta Kappa, and has served as a volunteer for local non-profits. She is also a follower of Jesus, an active member of Summerville Baptist Church, and is married to Wayne Putman.
