Danielle Walters earned her MFA in Creative Writing and MA in English from Chapman University in Orange, California. Her academic interests include American literature, composition studies, and creative writing. She has presented research on pedagogy and literary topics for the Association for Writers and Writing Programs, South Carolina Association of Developmental Education, Society of Comparative Literature and the Arts, and South Atlantic Modern Language Association. She is the author of Cut the Thread, which won the 2016 Plaza Literary Prize for 1888 Center. She has taught at CSU since 2011 and is the co-advisor to Sefer, CSU’s student literary magazine. She lives in Goose Creek with her husband and daughter.
