Cynthia Dyson is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at Charleston Southern University.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University, Master of Science in maternal/child Nursing from Medical University of South Carolina and her Doctorate of Education (EdD) from Nova Southeastern University. Her specialty areas are pediatrics, maternal/newborn, women’s health, and nursing education.
Dr. Dyson is an ANCC board certified Pediatric Nurse and an NLN board Certified Nurse Educator and currently teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses. She has developed nursing courses, clinical courses, health promotion and graduate nursing courses and assisted with program development at CSU. She is currently the director of undergraduate BSN program at the College of Nursing.
Dr. Dyson has been a faculty member at CSU since 1996 and has more than 25 years of experience in pediatrics/newborn nursing. She is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses, National League of Nurses, South Carolina Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International, Gamma Omicron At-Large Chapter. She currently serves on the national Society of Pediatric Nurses Education Committee. Her scholarly and research interests include clinical evaluation tools, evidence based nursing practice and innovative teaching strategies.
