College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS)

Description: The Charleston Southern University College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS) is seeking adjunct faculty to assist in the facilitation of its online courses. Specifically, instructors with a doctorate and at least 5 years of work experience in the field they would be teaching is preferred, but a master’s degree is acceptable in certain content areas. Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and online instruction is preferred. The current academic areas needed include: Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Statistics, Marketing, and International Business. 

Applicants with a minimum of a master’s degree and experience in one of the following areas are encouraged to apply: Hospitality & Tourism, Healthcare, Project Management, and Graphic Design.

Several areas are in need of additional adjunct faculty to cover the liberal arts core requirements. These include History, English, World Literature, Political Science, Math, Psychology and Sociology. Doctoral applicants are preferred. Teaching experience in an online platform is preferred but not required.

All positions are part-time and do not provide benefits. Applications will be collected by CAPS personnel and distributed to various divisions as vacancies occur. Please do not contact individual departments when applying for these positions.

Qualifications: A master's degree (minimum of 18 graduate content hours), certifications (if applicable) and adequate career experience are expected in each of the areas being taught. Doctorate degrees are preferred. Applications will be reviewed on a continual basis.
