The Master of Science in Biology (MSB) is a non-thesis master’s degree program within the School of Science and Mathematics at Charleston Southern University. This program targets baccalaureate graduates in biology and other science-related fields and is appropriate for careers that value individuals having advanced technical and conceptual training in biology (i.e. clinical doctorate programs in medicine, dentistry, and physical therapy, positions in management and policy, and educational appointment at the primary, secondary, or community college levels.
The program’s design requires a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours to complete, and can be accomplished with one year’s time. The proposed coursework in the MSB will provide a foundation in graduate-level knowledge of biological theory, lab techniques, and experimental design. Required in this track are 5 core courses totaling twelve (12) credit hours and a minimum of an additional eighteen (18) credit hours of biology elective courses.
