Graphic Design

Our Graphic Design program prepares students for the latest demands employers are looking for in the field of design. The program begins with modest studio art requirements and advances to the basics of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) all within the first year. After that students will begin to build their portfolios. During the junior and senior years, special care will be taken to develop skills in the specific branch of design that best reflects a student’s job interests. This may include Digital Illustration, Advertising Design, Web Design, Flash Development and Digital Photography.

Whatever design interest is selected, students will have numerous opportunities to make sure they gain real world experience as reflected in their required portfolio.

Throughout the program students will deepen their appreciation of art and design as well as their ability to interpret this creative field through a Christian worldview. Students will understand how what they design affects society by answering the following questions. How does today’s design affect our decisions with what we buy? How we live? Developing a foundational understanding in these areas is vital for any designer hoping to make a positive influence in their industry.
