Women’s Residence Life Coordinator

The Student Affairs Division has a position open for a Residence Life Coordinator for the women’s residence halls. The position requires a dynamic person to manage the affairs of women’s residence halls housing approximately 350 women. Duties will include, but are not limited to: educational and social programming, counseling, room assignments, inspections, handling roommate and personal problems, and coordinating maintenance and security and the supervision of student resident and security staff persons, supervising the summer workers and camps, and developing the work schedules of RD’s & RA’s. A Bachelor's Degree is required, Master’s degree preferred. First Aid & CPR certification preferred. Salary is competitive and includes full university benefits plus room and board.   • To be knowledgeable of advising policies
  • To be knowledgeable of financial aid requirements re: course loads (Life, Hope scholarship recipients particularly)
  • To administer career, personality, and learning inventories on each student
  • To meet with each FSP student three times during the semester
  • To track student progress re: tutoring, absences, early warnings
  • To develop an individual success plan for each FSP student at the beginning of semester
  • To advise current FSP students for spring semester courses
  • To continue to meet and advise FSP students until they have successfully completed all FSP courses

Student Payroll Accountant

The HR/Payroll Office currently has an opening for a part-time Student Payroll Accountant. Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate many tasks are crucial. Responsibilities of this position include processing two student payrolls a month, fielding student payroll questions, filing, scanning and maintaining student records, and other duties as assigned. The Student Payroll Accountant must coordinate with faculty, staff, coaches and students to ensure payroll is processed efficiently and in a timely manner. Computer literacy is required; experience with MS Office Suite is preferred. Flexibility and the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously are highly desirable. Experience with ADP Payroll System is a plus.

Part-time Library Position Available

Charleston Southern University has a part-time evening position available in the Library’s Audiovisual Department. Hours are 8:00 PM to midnight Sunday through Thursday during Spring and Fall semesters and 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM during Summer sessions and Maymester. Responsibilities include circulation of AV materials using automated system, providing assistance with equipment, collecting and accounting for money receipts, supervision of student employees, and performing closing procedures. Basic computer skills are required. Training on the automated system will be provided. Applicants with academic library experience and/or college degree preferred. Evening College Student Services Coordinator

The Evening College Administrative-Student Services Coordinator position reports directly to the Dean of the Evening College and Extended Education Programs. The Coordinator will be on a 12-month contract and is part of a team facilitating (in part) the nontraditional-adult learner to help them achieve their educational goals. The job will consist of at minimum the following:

• Interfacing with prospective and current nontraditional-adult education students with respect to applications, financial aid, and registration.

• After the student is admitted to the university, the Coordinator will be required to evaluate transfer credit and check non-traditional courses of the student.

• Other responsibilities will include working with correspondence, book orders, warehousing, departmental budgets and purchase orders, ordering supplies and program materials, and the ordering/distribution of any textbooks as well as managing any student work-study pool.

• Planning and organizing Evening College events, such as Orientations, training sessions for faculty, students, etc.

• Will interface with the Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid Office, Business Office and other University support offices as needed.

• Requires knowledge of and proficient use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Blackboard.

• Will work with the Dean, any assistant to the Dean, and adjunct professors in typing, computer usage, and test development and various other administrative duties.

• Will support marketing the programs related to Evening College.

• Other duties as assigned.

This position will require periodical evening/weekend work. Office work hours are normally 9 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. M-F.

The Criminal Justice program located at the Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus in Myrtle Beach has a part-time administrative/secretarial positions available. Both positions are 15 hours per week and we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

Ability to greet public, provide assistance to students and faculty, and coordinate business operations with staff at both HGTC and Coastal Carolina University.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and have the ability to learn additional CSU specific databases to review student progress and assist with registration.

Maintaining adequate office supply inventory, reporting physical plant maintenance issues to appropriate offices, tracking all invoices and purchases and completing all monthly reports.

Establish and maintain student files, perform student-related tasks as requested by faculty members, and be available to work with Charleston-based student support offices.

These positions report directly to the Myrtle Beach Program Director and are available immediately.
