Databases and Journal Indexes
The following database is available to everyone:
ERIC (FREE database from the U.S. Dept. of Education)
ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center) provides free access to more than 1.2 million bibliographic records of journal articles and other education-related materials and, if available, includes links to full text. Note that most documents that are not available online can be accessed in the microfiche cabinets.
The following databases are only available to faculty, staff, and students of Charleston Southern University:
Academic OneFile (InfoTrac)
A general database that contains full text and indexed articles from magazines, newspapers, books and journals in most disciplines
Academic Search Premier (EBSCOHost) 
A general, multi-disciplinary database that contains full text and indexed articles from magazines, newspapers, books and journals
e-Duke Journals Scholarly Collection: Expanded
Provides online access to journal titles published by Duke University Press. Subjects include the Humanities and Social Sciences. The number of titles in the collection is expected to grow from year to year. All of the journals are also accessible by title through the library's Journals by Title webpage.
EBSCO eBook Collection
A collection of over 21,000 electronic books available in full text online. These titles may be searched in the library's catalog or directly in the EBSCO database. Formerly known as NetLibrary, titles in this collection cover all subject areas.
ERIC (EBSCOHost) 
This subscription service from EBSCOhost provides access to education literature and resources included in the Current Index of Journals in Education and Resources in Education Index. The database contains more than 1,194,000 records and links to more than 100,000 full-text documents from ERIC.
Expanded Academic (InfoTrac)
A general database that contains full text and indexed articles from magazines, newspapers, books and journals.
General OneFile (InfoTrac)
A general database that contains full text and indexed articles from magazines, newspapers, books and journals in most disciplines ranging from architecture to biology and history to mathematics.
JSTOR
An archive of scholarly journals that offers high-resolution, scanned images of journal issues and pages as they were originally designed, printed, and illustrated. The journals archived in JSTOR span many disciplines. Because of JSTOR's archival mission, there is a gap, typically from 1 to 5 years, between the most recently published journal issue and the back issues available in JSTOR. Select Advanced Search to choose discipline title.
Liebert Online 
An authoritative database continaing peer-reviewed journals in the most promising areas of biotechnology, biomedical research/life sciences, clinical medicine and surgery, and law.
Mental Measurements Yearbook (EBSCOHost)
Provides users with a comprehensive guide to over 2,000 contemporary testing instruments. It contains information essential for a complete evaluation of test products within such diverse areas as psychology, education, business, and leadership.
Opposing Viewpoints in Context
Provides contextual information and opinions on hundreds of today's hottest social issues. Drawing on the acclaimed Greenhaven Press series, it features continuously updated viewpoint articles, topic overviews, full-text magazines, academic journals, news articles, primary source documents, statistics, images, videos, audio files and links to vetted websites organized into a user-friendly portal experience.
Oxford Journals Online
Provides abstract and full text access to journals published by Oxford University Press. Disciplines covered in Oxford Journals are the humanities, law, life sciences, mathematics & physical sciences, medicine, and social sciences.
Oxford Reference Online Premium
Combines language and subject reference works together to form a large reference library. It contains over 100 dictionary, language reference, and subject reference works.
Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection (EBSCOHost) 
Searches nearly 575 full text publications, including nearly 550 peer-reviewed titles. It covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.
PsycARTICLES (EBSCOHost)
Contains full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database includes more than 45,000 articles from 57 journals - 46 published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied organizations. It includes all journal articles, letters to the editor and errata from each journal.
PsycBOOKS (EBSCOHost)
A database of more than 16,000 chapters in PDF from over 1,000 books published by APA and other publishers. The database includes most scholarly titles published by APA from copyright years 1953 - present. It also includes 100 out-of-print books and a total of more than 400 classic books of landmark historical impact in psychology.
PsycINFO (EBSCOHost)
Contains nearly 2.3 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. 97 percent of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to present, includes international material selected from more than 2,100 periodicals in more than 25 languages.
PsycTESTS (American Psychological Association)
Provides the full text of psychological tests and measures as well as structured information about tests of relevance to psychologists and professionals in related fields such as psychiatry, management, business, education, social science, neuroscience, law, medicine, and social work. Updated monthly, PsycTESTS includes a wide variety of test types: achievement and aptitude tests, intelligence tests, tests of cognitive functioning, occupational tests, personality tests, and more. Includes fields for validity and reliability data (when available), test purpose, construct, format, number of items, and more. Includes descriptive summaries of commercially available tests with links to the publisher, and provides full text, descriptive summaries, and relevant citations on the development and assessment of tests and measures that can be used in research and teaching.
SocINDEX with Full Text (EBSCOHost)
A sociological research database that features more than 1,660,000 records with contains full text for 344 "core" coverage journals dating back to 1895, and 129 "priority" coverage journals. This database also includes full text for more than 700 books and monographs, and full text for 6,800 conference papers.
SpringerLink
An online collection of science, technology, and mathematics (STM) books, journals, and reference works from Springer-Verlag.
