The purpose of this tour is to provide a brief introduction and orientation to the L. Mendel Rivers Library

The L. Mendel Rivers Library, named after Congressman L. Mendel Rivers (1905-1970), was built in 1969. It serves as the campus library for Charleston Southern University. The library has over 250,000 print and non-print resources with access to over 12,000 periodicals available in various formats. In addition, the L. Mendel Rivers library is a selective depository of US Government documents.

Wireless Internet access is available on both floors of the Library, as well as in the classrooms on the lower level of the Library building, for persons bringing in their own laptop computers with wireless cards.

The library has undergone recent renovation with the first floor being completed in 2006 and the addition of a coffee shop completed and opened in 2006.
