PASCAL Academic Libraries
Visit: Current Charleston Southern University students, faculty, and staff may visit any PASCAL member library in person and either use materials there or check out materials directly using the PASCAL Visiting Patron program. There are PASCAL libraries throughout South Carolina. Materials borrowed directly from a PASCAL library may be returned to the CSU library or to the other library.
Request Delivery: Books and some AV materials requested using the PASCAL Catalog can be delivered to the CSU Library at no charge. See these instructions before requesting materials from PASCAL. Copies of journal articles may be requested using OCLC Interlibrary Loan.
Request Pick Up Anywhere: Materials requested using the PASCAL Catalog can be delivered to any other PASCAL member library for pickup by a CSU student, faculty, or staff. Simply change the pickup location when placing the request.
Charleston Area Public Libraries
Charleston County Public Library: All current CSU students, regardless of where they live, may apply for a free CCPL card by showing their CSU student ID card and proof of permanent home address. CSU faculty and staff must live in Charleston County to apply for a free CCPL card, or they may purchase a Non-Resident Card for an annual fee. The Otranto Branch of the CCPL is less than 2 miles from the CSU campus, located on Otranto Road behind the K-Mart on Rivers Ave. Materials borrowed directly from CCPL must be returned directly to CCPL.
Berkeley and Dorchester County Libraries will issue free library cards only to people living in those counties, but anyone may purchase a Non-Resident Card for an annual fee. Materials borrowed directly from these libraries must be returned directly to them.
Materials can be requested from many other libraries in South Carolina and the United States using OCLC InterLibrary Loan (ILL) and the materials will be delivered to the CSU library.
