State Budget Cuts Threaten CSU Library Services

The resources listed on the CSU Library's Databases webpage which are marked by this PASCAL icon icon) are currently funded by the South Carolina Legislature through an agreement with PASCAL, the Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries. This funding also provides the PASCAL Delivers Interlibrary Loan service which CSU joined in January 2008. However, the SC Legislature has reduced funding for PASCAL's programs by 90% for Fiscal Year 2008-2009. So far, this has resulted in the loss for CSU of the LexisNexis: Academic database, with loss of other databases likely. The PASCAL Delivers Interlibrary Loan service will also reduce deliveries to three days per week. For more information, and to find out what you can do to help, see PASCAL's Funding Crisis webpage.

Campus Research From Westlaw Replaces LexisNexis: Academic Database

The CSU Library is now funding a subscription to the Campus Research database from Westlaw, to replace the LexisNexis: Academic database which was lost due to cuts in the PASCAL budget.
