It was the first chapel service of the semester to reconvene in Lightsey Chapel. After some extensive work to replace the heating and air system in the signature building on campus, students gathered to hear Arts Week speaker, John Bolin.
The film producer, playwright and author shared video examples of his long-running dramatic play, “The Thorn.” Students also viewed a trailer of a feature film called “The Resurrection of Gavin Stone.”
Bolin’s primary message, though, was to encourage students to understand that God is speaking to each of us. He’s not interested in who we were or who we are, but in who we can become.
In closing, he urged each person listening to move in the direction of their destiny.
As part of Arts Week, Bolin will also interact with students on campus in a breakout session on writing and producing with a gospel mindedness.
