The Counseling Services office at Charleston Southern University is recognizing National Suicide Prevention Week. As part of our efforts to increase suicide prevention efforts, CSU welcomes guest speaker Dennis Gillan back to campus. Gillan will share his message – Journey To Healing: Life After Devastating Loss x2.
Gillan's story involves the loss of two brothers to suicide, the first when he was in college. He will not only share the painful parts of his story but also the hopeful parts of his story. We know that many students are impacted/affected by the topic of suicide in some way and therefore we are praying for great attendance and impact from this event. Even if students have not been affected by the topic of suicide, it will help them understand how to be a friend in the future to someone in need.
The event will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at 8:00 p.m. at the Drew Conference Center in the Whitfield Center for Christian Leadership. Alternate Chapel credit will be given to CSU students in attendance.
Charleston Southern is a liberal arts university and is one of South Carolinas largest accredited, independent universities, enrolling 3,600 students. Recognized as one of Americas Best Christian Colleges, the Universitys vision is to be a Christian university nationally recognized for integrating faith in learning, leading and serving.
