Fall 2017 Chapel Schedule Announced

Charleston Southern University released its Fall 2017 Chapel schedule on Tuesday, which includes eight services through the semester. The Fall 2017 schedule includes keynote messages from Chris Singleton, Operation Christmas Child and the annual Horton School of Music Christmas concert.

The purpose of Charleston Southern University Chapel is to provide the University with a worship experience that connects the campus community with the thoughts and heart of Jesus Christ. Chapel is held bi-weekly in the Lightsey Auditorium on Wednesday mornings at 11 a.m. throughout the semester.


Fall 2017 Chapel Schedule

  • August 23: Prayer First
  • August 30: First Chapel (President Dr. Jairy Hunter)
  • September 13: Sharlene Stanford (Orlando Rescue Mission)
  • October 4: Ron Archer (Gospel and Gideons)
  • October 11: Keith Shorter (President, South Carolina Baptist Convention)
  • October 25: Chris Singleton (Homecoming)
  • November 8: Eric Hammen (Naval Chaplain, Veterans Day)
  • November 15: Operation Christmas Child
  • November 29: Horton School of Music Christmas Concert

Chapel services are held in Lightsey Chapel and attendance is monitored. Alternate chapel services are also offered throughout the semester, allowing students to receive credit when scheduling problems arise.  48 chapel credits must be earned to graduate.
