12/21/12 - South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley announced the appointment of Representative Tim Scott to fill Jim DeMint's seat in the U.S. Senate this week. Scott, a 1988 Charleston Southern University graduate with a degree in political science, was elected to the U.S. Congress in 2010 to represent South Carolina's 1st Congressional District and was re-elected in 2012. 12/11/12 - This November marks the 10th Anniversary of the Charleston Southern University Women's Council Shopping for Scholars Auction. Charlene Kirk, who has been called a spark plug for the college, founded the council in 1983. CSU to break ground on nursing building expansion

12/11/12 - Charleston Southern University will break ground on the expansion of the Derry Patterson Wingo School of Nursing this Friday.
