University Relations // 07.31.2017
Charleston Southern University is launching a new course, Interpreter Training for Health and Human Services.
- This 40-hour course will prepare bilingual students for both national medical interpretation
exams and a career as a certified medical interpreter.
- The interpretation industry is growing at a record 29%. National certification increases
the earning power of professional interpreters.
- This is the only curriculum in South Carolina approved by The Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters and The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters.
- To accommodate working adults, the course spans four weekends in the fall with Friday
evening and Saturday instruction.
Sharpen the bilingual skills you already have and strengthen your resume with the
national certification that hospitals seek.
