Last February, Kimber Gist was shot eight times in the line of duty -- and survived. She has endured five surgeries and never missed a single class assignment.
Gist, a student in Charleston Southern University's Master of Science in Criminal Justice program and Berkeley County sheriff officer, returned to campus Thursday to share her griping (and inspiring) story with faculty, staff, students and the local community.
