Marketing and Communication // 02.06.2017
Campus ministries collected more than 100 cans of non-perishable canned food items during
Sunday’s annual Souper Bowl of Caring at Charleston Southern University.
Tri-County family members will receive the soup, beans, peas and other canned items
that the students donated. Every dollar collected through Souper Bowl of Caring should
be donated directly to a charity selected by each participating group.
The Souper Bowl of Caring mission is to use “the energy of the Super Bowl to mobilize
youth in a united national effort to care for people in their local communities who
are hungry and those in need.”
Feeding Amercia reports that 48 million Americans live in poverty and 1 in 7 Americans face hunger
every day. Charleston Southern students wer able to transform the time around the Super Bowl into an opportunity to give back and service. The event was held in the university Dining Hall where CSU students gathered for an
evening meal and to watch Super Bowl LI between the New England Patriots and Atlanta
