Jenna Johnson has been hired as Assistant Director of Integrated Marketing for Charleston Southern University, effective October 4.
As assistant director, Johnson oversees the website, social media, email marketing and press relations for the university. In addition, she will assist the director in marketing the university’s message to prospective students, alumni, parents and the community.
“Jenna perfectly fits the position and will be an asset to CSU and the community that she will be serving,” Richard Esposito, CSU’s director of integrated marketing, said.
Before joining CSU, Johnson served at local nonprofit Origin SC since 2012 where she managed the communications activities and supported the organizational funding strategy. While there, she had the unique opportunity in leading the 128-year-old nonprofit through a rebranding project – changing the name and image. Her public relations career began in Congressional political campaigns, and continued on in the private and nonprofit sectors.
In 2015, Johnson co-founded the first Young Nonprofit Professionals Network chapter in South Carolina; and last year, she was chosen as one of the 20 to Know in North Charleston by the Post & Courier.
Johnson holds a BA from Clemson University (Political Science/Journalism).
