Profile: Melissa Butcher
Melissa Butcher is the director and an instructor of health promotion in the College of Nursing and Allied Health at Charleston Southern University. She received her bachelor of science in health science with a focus in health education and promotion from Clemson University, her master of science in health, exercise and sports science from The Citadel and is currently pursuing her doctorate of health science from Nova Southeastern. Mrs. Butcher is a nationally certified health education specialist. She teaches a variety of undergraduate health promotion courses for CSU. Her scholarly interests involve behavior change theories, lifestyle behaviors as they relate to the prevention of chronic disease and community health.
Mrs. Butcher invites all potential and current students to contact her with questions about the health promotion program, as she is always thrilled to share her passion for the field with students who are interested in pursuing a degree or career in health promotion.
