Therefore,
as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe
yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility,
gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive
whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues
put on
love, which bind them all together in perfect unity.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as
members
of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach
and admonish
one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts
to God.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all
in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the
Father
through Him. -- Colossians 3:12-17
I
have always wanted to be a nurse. Even as a young child,
I knew I was destined
to be a member of a profession that
focused on caring for others. It’s a passion that allows
me to minister to others.
I
spent my freshmen year at a public university before transferring
to CSU. During
my freshmen year, I learned a lot about myself
and the person that I wanted to be. I learned that in order
for me to become that person, I needed to be in an environment
that focused on learning and Christ, not secular ideals.
Transferring to a Christian based university was the best
education decision I’ve ever made. I am able to learn
and grow, as well as have fun, in an environment that promotes
and upholds Christian values.
I
plan to work at the VA hospital here in Charleston. I
have been working there as a student nurse
tech in the ICU
and I feel that this is a place that I can really
learn and grow as a nurse. I’m hoping to gain experience
on a med-surg unit and then become certified as a critical
care
nurse and return to the ICU.
