Profile: Teresa Vasas
Teresa Vasas is an assistant professor in the College of Nursing and Allied Health
at Charleston Southern University. She received her primary nursing degree from Abraham
Baldwin Agricultural College in 1976 and later earned her master of science in critical
care nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina.
Mrs. Vasas has more than 35 years of experience in hospital based nursing where she has been dedicated to serving critically ill adults and children. While dedicated to patient care, Mrs. Vasas has also provided mentoring and education to both experienced nurses and nursing students. Prior to becoming a faculty member at Charleston Southern University, her leadership roles have included clinical nurse specialist and preceptor for intensive care, clinical unit manager, instructor for basic and advanced cardiac life support and academic clinical instructor.
Mrs.Vasas currently teaches in the undergraduate program and is a faculty advisor for the student nurses' association. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau international honor society of nursing, the American Nurses Association and the South Carolina Nurses Association. Mrs. Vasas is also an active community volunteer, striving to serve needs of the hungry and homeless in Charleston.
