Dr.
Vera Kling is an Assistant Professor in the Derry Patterson
Wingo School of Nursing at Charleston Southern University
and Adjunct Faculty in the online campus at South University.
She received her bachelor of science in nursing from the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her master
of science in nursing administration from the Medical University
of South Carolina, and her Doctor of Health Science from
Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Kling’s clinical
interests are in the areas of mental health nursing and
leadership in nursing. She teaches at the undergraduate
and graduate levels and has developed nursing courses and
participated in the development of the health promotion
program at Charleston Southern University. She currently
coordinates the health promotion program.
Dr
Kling has been a faculty member at Charleston Southern
University since 1998. She has served as member and officer
on a number of departmental and university committees and
is presently the Chair of the Nursing Admissions, Testing
and Progression committee. Dr. Kling is a Licensed Professional
Counselor and is board certified in Mental Health Nursing.
She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, Gamma
Omicron At-Large Chapter. Her scholarly interests include
NCLEX-RN success, the use of technology in teaching and
innovative strategies in clinical instruction.
