CLEP Policy

Assuming that an acceptable score is attained on a College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) test, Charleston Southern University (CSU) grants full degree credit. There are limitations on how CLEP credit may be applied (see policy on last page). Credit is awarded in semester hours at CSU. Refer to the table below for the application of CLEP credit. The minimum scores used in this table are equal to or greater than those recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE). Grades of "P" (Pass) will be shown on CSU transcripts for all credit hours awarded. The grade of "P" will not affect one’s Grade Point Average (GPA) because grade points are not awarded and hours earned will not be added to GPA hours (CSU hours).
