Hello, I am Clark Carter, the Dean of Students here at Charleston Southern University.
I am a proud alum of CSU ('87). I have been serving at the University since 2002.
I was the Campus Minister here for nine years before becoming the Dean of Students
in the Fall of 2011.
Our staff in the Student Services Department is here to serve you and your student.
Through Christ-centered leadership, Student Services provides the CSU community with
opportunities to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically.
The Student Services Department is a large department comprised of Campus Ministries, Counseling Services, Civic Engagement, The Career Center, Life Skills, Campus Recreation, Campus Activities, Residence Life, and Security.

The Campus Activities Board is a student-run organization that plans events for students.
Through these services and coordination of the campus calendar, we hope to enhance
and unify the campus community by providing well-balanced, quality events in response
to students' needs and interests.The board meets weekly and opens its doors to new
members each semester.

Campus Security offers a range of services to enhance your security and well-being
on campus. Whether you need information on signing up for Buc Alert, want to know
how to engrave your valuables, or want to request a security escort, you'll find it
at Campus Security.
The Career Center provides career services to students and facilitates the process
of connecting God-given passion to skills and abilities through CSU majors. We endeavor
to increase job placement opportunities for students by partnering with businesses,
churches and the Charleston Southern community.
The U.S. Department of Education requires higher education institutions that receive
federal funds to provide students and other interested parties with appropriate information
regarding the filing of complaints.
Sometimes the stress of college life can get a bit overwhelming. Give the licensed
counselors in the Counseling Center a call and get back on top of things.
The CSU Buccaneers compete at the NCAA Division I level and are members of the Big
Dining with friends is an integral part of your college experience. Whether it's a
quick bite on the go or a casual sit-down meal with your friends, Dining Services
makes it easy for you to refuel and reconnect. We offer many dining styles to enhance
your college experience, not to mention a great place to meet with your friends.

and more. Remember, currents students must submit the FAFSA and apply for financial
aid every year. Apply early!
Information Technology Services maintains areas of technology throughout the campus
community. Find all your information regarding wireless internet, student computer
labs and Bucmail (student email).
The purpose of the L. Mendel Rivers Library is to support the mission of Charleston
Southern University by providing students and faculty with bibliographic, physical,
and intellectual access to recorded knowledge and information. The primary responsibility
of the library is to support the instructional program of the University through information
literacy training and by acquiring, organizing, and providing access to appropriate

The Registrar's Office maintains student records, issues transcripts, verifies attendance,
issues diplomas, produces the class schedule, supervises registration, evaluates transfer
credit and records grades.

The Student Employment office works with University departments and the community
to create work-study employment opportunities for students. Meeting the work-study
employment needs of students is our job, and we work diligently to ensure our joint
